Symphonic Band

Symphonic Band is for 7th and 8th grade students who have at least one year of experience playing woodwind, brass, or percussion instruments.  Students are selected by an audition process.  Symphonic Band performs concerts throughout the year at Eisenhower for friends and family and at Eldorado High School.  They perform yearly at the NMAA State Concert Band Contest, as well as at the District VII Music Performance Assessment, where they have consistently received superior ratings.  The EMS Symphonic Band was awarded first place at State Contest in 2010, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2019.

The EMS Symphonic Band was selected as the 2024 New Mexico Music Educators Association Honor Band, and was granted the opportunity to perform in Popejoy Hall.

​Students in Symphonic Band focus on playing and reading skills to prepare them to play in high school band and beyond.  Students are also given the opportunity to play in small groups and as soloists at the District Solo and Ensemble Festival.
